Notorious suspects busted

BAHAWALPUR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) The police have taken several suspects into custody in various operations and recovered large quantities of liquor, narcotics, and illegal weapons.

According to an official press release issued here, in line with the vision of the Chief Minister of Punjab for a Punjab free of drugs and illegal weapons, and following the directives of the Inspector General of Police Punjab, the ongoing campaign was launched against criminal elements.

“Police from police stations including Civil Lines, Samma Satta, Dhoor Kot, Sadr Yazman, Inayati, and Sadr Hasilpur stations conducted effective operations, arresting six suspects involved in liquor trade and recovered 410 liters of liquor along with 2 operational distilleries,” the press release said.

Similarly, police from PS Civil Lines, PS Cantt, PS Baghdad-ul-Jadeed, PS Abbas Nagar, PS Uch Sharif, PS City Yazman, and PS Sadr Hasilpur tightened the net against drug dealers, arresting seven suspects and recovering 1,390 grams of hashish and 121 grams of crystal meth (ice) from their possession.

Meanwhile, police from the police stations including Baghdad-ul-Jadeed, City Ahmadpur East, and Inayati stations took action against illegal weapons, arresting five suspects and recovering four pistols (30 bore) and one revolver (32 bore).

Separate cases have been registered against the arrested suspects, and investigations have been initiated.
