LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th May, 2026) Pakistan should introduce the concept of 'Northern Loop', a high-altitude circular road journey

across the legendary Karakoram Highway and adjoining mountain corridors to promote tourism,

regional connectivity and economic growth.

Convener of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Regional

Committee on food, Shahid Imran, stated this while speaking to a tourists delegation from

northern areas, here Sunday.

He explained, this scenic route would connect Islamabad, Chilas, Gilgit, Hunza and the breathtaking

Khunjerab Pass before looping back to the Federal capital through adjoining valleys and highways.

"The Northern Loop can emerge as one of the world’s most spectacular road adventures, offering

tourists unmatched views of snow-covered peaks, glaciers, rivers and historic mountain settlements.

The route will also showcase Pakistan’s rich cultural diversity, local cuisines, handicrafts and

hospitality, creating livelihood opportunities for thousands of people in northern regions," he remarked.

FPCCI Committee Convener was of the view that such an initiative can significantly boost domestic

and international tourism while strengthening Pakistan’s image as a safe and attractive travel destination. Improved road infrastructure, eco-friendly resorts, emergency services and digital connectivity along

the route would further enhance visitor experience.

He concluded, the Northern Loop could become Pakistan’s signature tourism brand, similar to famous international mountain road circuits, attracting adventure seekers, photographers and nature lovers

from across the globe.
