SUKKUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Feb, 2026) Executive Engineer (XEN) Kashif Gulzar Sheikh while addressing the Press Conference here on Sunday said that there will be no load shedding during Sehri and Iftar times throughout the holy month of Ramazan. He further stated that all field and line staff have been instructed to remain on high alert 24/7 to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the public.

He said that in light of directives from the Ministry of Energy and senior authorities, special arrangements have been made from the beginning of Ramadan. According to him, no load management schedule has been implemented during Sehri and Iftar in Rohri Division with the approval of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), and all relevant officers and staff are fully mobilized.

He emphasized that Ramazan is a sacred month, and therefore, power supply is being monitored more closely than usual. Line staff, sub divisional teams, and circle teams are present in the field day and night, while a complaint center has also been activated to address any emergency issues. Citizens are encouraged to report any complaints promptly for immediate action.

According to the XEN, Rohri Division is currently supplying approximately 2 million units of electricity daily, compared to 1.6 to 1.7 million units before Ramazan marking an increase of around 300,000 units per day. He noted that this surge in demand may create challenges in meeting recovery targets, but the department remains committed to fulfilling its responsibilities.

He added that while the government has issued special instructions to provide relief to the public during Ramazan, electricity consumption is ultimately recorded on consumers’ meters. Therefore, citizens should use electricity responsibly and ensure timely payment of bills after Eid.

He clarified that even in sensitive areas such as City One and Loco Shed, there will be no load shedding during Sehri and Iftar. In case of any technical fault or line loss, immediate reporting will enable prompt resolution.

He further mentioned that no major complaints have been received during the first four days of Ramadan, and overall power supply has remained satisfactory. The electricity department will continue to prioritize public convenience in the days ahead.
