New LGH facility ensures respectful transport of dead body

MS Prof. Faryad Hussain says sharing the grief of others is the pinnacle of humanity

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-April 15th, 2026) : Following the directives of CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a counter has been established at Lahore General Hospital (LGH) to ensure the dignified and safe transportation of deceased to their homes. This initiative aims to alleviate the hardships faced by bereaved families, making the process more efficient, organized and respectful. To guide citizens, Rescue 1122 employees will be available at the counter round-the-clock.

While reviewing the arrangements, MS LGH Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain remarked that sharing the grief of others is the pinnacle of humanity. He stated that this facility would serve as a major relief for grieving families who previously had to rely on private ambulances, incurring heavy expenses and immense mental stress. The financial and administrative burden on citizens has been effectively removed.

Dr. Yahya Sultan, Dr. Anum Batool, Dr. Faiza Khalid, Nursing Supervisor Naseem Khaliq and Rescue 1122 staff were also present on the occasion.

Prof. Faryad Hussain further explained that previously, heirs faced unnecessary delays and difficulties in searching for ambulances and managing logistics. Now, with the establishment of this special counter, all procedures can be completed at a single point with ease and dignity, saving time and providing mental peace to the bereaved.

MS LGH added that CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s initiative is a commendable effort to create genuine ease for suffering humanity. He highlighted that this welfare step will not only provide immediate practical relief but also strengthen public trust in government hospitals and administrative systems as a model of public service.
