MIRPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Mar, 2026) In view of the ongoing fragile security situation in the backdrop of current global and regional affairs, the Regional Committee of the National Action Plan (NAP) met here Wednesday and decided in principle to continue the effective implementation of the National Action Plan to further improve the law and order situation across the Mirpur division with a prime focus on discouraging and eliminating terrorism from its roots. It was officially said.
The meeting held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Mirpur Division Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan was attended, among others, by Deputy Inspector General of Police Range Mirpur Khalid Chohan, Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Raja Muhammad Sadaqat Khan, Deputy Commissioner Bhimber Chaudhry Haq Nawaz, Deputy Commissioner Kotli Raja Imran Shaheen, SSP Mirpur Khurram Iqbal, SSP Bhimber Raja Muhammad Akmal Khan, DSP Sohail Yousaf, and officers of sensitive and security agencies.
APP AJK Correspondent reports that the meeting reviewed various points of the National Action Plan in detail besides discussing, in detail, other identical important issues, including continuous effective actions against every attempt of terrorism, extremism, hateful content, and illegal activities, including the evacuation of illegal foreigners, including Afghan residents.
The meeting also decided to ensure implementation in accordance with the National Action Plan and national policy.
The meeting issued instructions to prevent begging, eliminate professional beggars, check price control during Ramadan, register schools, secure important facilities, and ensure foolproof security arrangements at all entry points of all three districts of Mirpur, Kotli, and Bhimber.
The meeting directed that effective measures be taken to monitor the movement of suspicious persons with the cooperation of the district and subdivision administrations, education department, local government, councilors, and the local community for onward reporting to the district and divisional administrations, including police and security agencies, instantly.
Commissioner Mirpur Division Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan, while addressing the meeting, emphasized that the National Action Plan should be implemented to ensure the establishment of sustainable peace in the division with a prime focus on protecting the lives and properties of the people. "No concession should be made to anyone in this regard," the commissioner advised.
