FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jun, 2026) Divisional Commissioner Madam Musarrat Jabeen said that divisional administration has intensified security and administrative measures for maintenance of law & order until Youm-e-Ashur.
She was presiding over a meeting held to review security preparedness and administrative arrangements for Muharram processions and religious gatherings.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sohail Akhtar Sukhaira and Brigadier Yaseen of Pakistan Army attended the meeting while Deputy Commissioner (DC) Faisalabad Captain (Retired) Nadeem Nasir, City Police Officer (CPO) Tanveer Hussain and deputy commissioners and district police officers of other districts participated through video link.
Addressing the meeting, the divisional commissioner directed all deputy commissioners and district police officers to further strengthen security and administrative arrangements on procession routes from the 7th of Muharram until Ashura.
She emphasized the need for continuous coordination with procession organizers, religious scholars and peace committee members to promptly address any issue and ensure the smooth conduct of religious events.
She received a detailed briefing on the security plan for Youm-e-Ashur and instructed officials to ensure strict enforcement of restrictions on the use of loudspeakers in accordance with the law. She stressed that no violation of the prescribed code of conduct should be tolerated.
The divisional commissioner also directed that all duty officers be fully briefed about their responsibilities and remain vigilant throughout the sensitive period.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>She instructed authorities to ensure the presence of competent and responsible staff in control rooms so that information sharing and emergency response could be carried out without delay.
RPO Sohail Akhtar Sukhaira urged the police officers to continue implementing the security plan with responsibility and professionalism. He directed all personnel to perform their duties strictly in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) devised for Muharram security and to maintain close monitoring of sensitive locations.
Brigadier Yaseen expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the divisional and district administrations as well as the police for Muharram-ul-Haram. He assured participants that Pakistan Army would continue extending full support and cooperation to the civil administration in maintaining peace and ensuring the security of mourners.
The meeting reviewed overall security preparedness, deployment plans, monitoring mechanisms and coordination among departments.
The participants reaffirmed their commitment to utilize all available resources to maintain peace, religious harmony and public safety during the remaining days of Muharram-ul-Haram. They said that administration and law enforcement agencies would remain fully alert and work in close coordination to ensure peace throughout the division.
