Mother’s Day observed in Sargodha

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th May, 2026) Mother’s Day was observed across the country including Sargodha on Sunday with great love,

respect and admiration for mothers, acknowledging their lifelong sacrifices, unconditional love

and vital role in shaping families and society.

Speakers from different walks of life termed mothers as the greatest blessing of Almighty Allah

and said no relationship in the world could replace a mother’s affection, care and sincerity.

Talking to APP, a senior lawyer Khurshid Ali said that a mother was the first teacher of every

child and plays the most important role in character building and moral training.

He said the success of individuals and nations largely depended upon the upbringing provided

by mothers.

Headmistress Govt Girls High school Chak No.101 NB Shazia Saleem said mothers deserved

utmost respect and care because they devoted their entire lives to the comfort and bright future

of their children.

She added that educational institutions should also promote awareness among students regarding

respect for parents, particularly mothers.

Prominent religious scholar Maulana Arif Naveed, while highlighting the Islamic perspective,

said islam had granted a very high status to mothers.

He quoted the famous saying of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him)

that “Paradise lies beneath the feet of mothers.”

He said serving and respecting mothers was not only a moral duty but also a religious obligation

for every Muslim.

Meanwhile, an orphan girl, Asma Yasmeen, shared her feelings with tears in her eyes and

said those who still had their mothers with them were the luckiest people in the world.

She said after losing her mother, she realized that a mother’s love could never be replaced

by anyone else.

Citizens from different segments of society also expressed love and gratitude to their mothers

through special messages, prayers and gatherings held in connection with Mother’s Day.
