More than 18000 cops deployed for security during Eid

KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) Karachi Police has finalised special security arrangements for Eid al-Adha to ensure protection of citizens, security at Eid congregations and prevention of incidents related to snatching of sacrificial animal hides.

According to a Karachi Police spokesperson on Monday, special security pickets have been established at important, sensitive and public places across the city with deployment of additional police personnel.

The spokesperson said a total of 18,646 police officers and personnel would perform security duties during Eid ul Azha celebrations across Karachi.

About 2,604 police officers and personnel had specifically been deployed at hide collection points to ensure security and maintain law and order.

The spokesperson said Karachi Police was utilising all available resources to safeguard the lives and property of citizens and maintain peace in the city.

The spokesperson said ensuring the safety of citizens remained the top priority of Karachi Police, adding that all possible measures were being taken to provide a peaceful environment and effective security arrangements during Eidul Azha.
