MAKKAH MUKARRAMAH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th May, 2026) The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) has implemented special transport arrangements to facilitate Pakistani pilgrims in performing their five daily prayers at the Masjid al-Haram, ensuring a seamless commute from their residences in Azizia.
In a significant departure from the global standard of one bus for every 250 pilgrims, the Government of Pakistan has secured an enhanced ratio of one bus for every 150 pilgrims through additional payments. This initiative aims to minimize waiting times and provide maximum comfort to the guests of Allah.
Talking to the media at the Kudana drop-off point immediately after Friday prayers, Ministry Spokesperson Omar Butt stated that the majority of Pakistani pilgrims prefer to offer all prayers at the Haram despite the harsh weather conditions.
"At this Kudana bus station, where drop-off points for Iran and Iraq are also located, the presence of Pakistani pilgrims is visibly higher due to their deep spiritual devotion and preference for praying at the Holy Mosque," the spokesperson remarked.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He noted that even within half an hour of the conclusion of Friday prayers, the return process for thousands of pilgrims remained remarkably smooth, with buses available in a continuous stream. Omar Butt further explained that the Primary objective of the Government Hajj Scheme is to provide premium facilities to the middle and lower-middle-class pilgrims. Under the "Haram Transport" system, pilgrims are brought to central drop-off points before boarding dedicated buses for their respective sectors.
He emphasized that during pre-departure training, pilgrims are sensitized about discipline and the importance of queuing to maintain order during peak hours. While the government-provided shuttle service is operating at an optimal level, the spokesperson added that there is no restriction on pilgrims who wish to use private taxis for their personal convenience.
