The Iranian officials confirm that Mohsin Naqvi was on his way to Tehran for meeting with FM Araghchi

ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-June 20th, 2026) Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi departed for Tehran to meet Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi amid US-Iran diplomatic efforts, the sources familiar with the development said on Saturday.

The Iranian officials also confirmed that Mohsin Naqvi was on his way to Tehran for meeting with FM Araghchi.

ISNA while citing Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei reported that the visit forms part of Islamabad’s ongoing diplomatic engagement related to discussions between Iran and the United States.

State news agency IRNA reported that Naqvi has already departed for Tehran, where he is scheduled to meet senior Iranian officials.

The talks are expected to focus on the progress of Iran-US negotiations, although no further details were disclosed.

Meanwhile, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh said any prospective agreement between Tehran and Washington is aimed at achieving “lasting stability”, while cautioning that Israel could attempt to undermine the peace process, according to Al Jazeera.

He added that the United States would need to demonstrate its ability to deliver on commitments as diplomatic efforts continue.
