ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Mar, 2026) The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony has officially released a detailed and comprehensive booklet titled "Rehnuma-e-Hajj" (Hajj Guide) to facilitate intending pilgrims for Hajj 2026. This booklet serves as a complete manual, explaining every phase of the sacred journey—from departure from Pakistan to the performance of Hajj rituals and the return home—in an easily understandable manner.
The compilation and research for this significant document were executed by the Research and Reference Wing, with contributions from Hafiz Abdul Quddus (Director General), Dr. Shahid ur Rehman (Deputy Director), Muhammad Khaliq (Deputy Director), and Ayesha Ijaz (Assistant Director). Additionally, Misbah ur Rehman (Section Officer) and Jameel ur Rehman (Assistant Director IT) from the Hajj Wing played a prominent role in its preparation.
The guidebook is divided into distinct chapters, each comprehensively covering crucial aspects of the pilgrimage. Regarding travel preparations and administrative affairs, the section guides pilgrims on the obligation and intention of Hajj, alongside pre-departure preparations in Pakistan. It offers detailed instructions on luggage packing, safeguarding travel documents, and foreign exchange arrangements, while strictly warning against carrying prohibited items such as narcotics and specific foods.
Promoting modern technology, the manual highlights the integration of digital apps by providing step-by-step procedures for using the 'Pak Hajj App' and 'Saudi visa Bio App'.
Pilgrims can utilize these platforms to seamlessly access their flight itineraries, accommodation details, training schedules, and a complaint registration system.
Furthermore, a major portion of the guide is dedicated to the performance of Hajj and Umrah rituals. This includes Tawaf, Sa'i, the proper method of wearing the Ihram, and the types of Hajj (Ifrad, Tamattu, Qiran). It thoroughly outlines the protocols for staying in Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah, as well as the Sunnah method of Rami al-Jamarat (stoning of the devil).
Prioritizing pilgrim well-being, the guide details essential health and preventive measures, making vaccinations for meningitis and the flu, as well as polio drops, mandatory. It outlines crucial medical precautions to prevent heatstroke, respiratory illnesses, and other emergencies amidst extreme heat and heavy crowds.
Additionally, a dedicated chapter covers the Ziyarat of Madina, detailing the journey either before or after Hajj. This includes the etiquette of presenting oneself at the Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH), performing prayers in Masjid-e-Nabawi, and visiting historical sites like Masjid Quba and Masjid Ghamama.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has expressed strong optimism that the "Rehnuma-e-Hajj" will empower pilgrims to perform their rituals seamlessly in accordance with Islamic principles. It is highly anticipated that the guidelines will also ensure strict discipline and compliance with Saudi laws throughout their spiritual journey.
