Minister Zeeshan visits cattle market

SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2026) Provincial Minister for Local Government Punjab Mian Zeeshan Rafique visited cattle markets established in Sialkot where he reviewed in detail the facilities and arrangements provided for citizens to a release said on Sunday.

Commissioner Gujranwala Division Muhammad Ali and Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali accompanied him during the visit. The provincial minister also interacted with citizens present at the cattle markets, inquired about the facilities being provided, and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.

Later, Provincial Minister for Local Government Punjab Mian Zeeshan Rafique, along with Commissioner Gujranwala Muhammad Ali and Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali, led a flag march from the Deputy Commissioner Office Sialkot to the Gohla Phala cattle market. Vehicles of Suthra Punjab, WASA, Pera Force, Rescue services, and Punjab Police participated in the flag march. The purpose of the march was to create awareness among citizens regarding Eid-ul-Azha cleanliness arrangements and to demonstrate the preparedness of departments in a practical manner.

Subsequently, an important meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner Office Sialkot under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister Mian Zeeshan Rafique to review the Eid-ul-Azha cleanliness plan in detail. Commissioner Gujranwala Muhammad Ali, Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali, and officers of relevant departments also attended the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, Mian Zeeshan Rafique said that 52 collection points had been established across District Sialkot for the collection of sacrificial waste, while 1,411 vehicles and 5,443 personnel of Suthra Punjab would remain active for waste collection and cleanliness operations.

He directed that monitoring officers should keep their live locations active round the clock, while the control room established at the Deputy Commissioner Office Sialkot would also remain operational 24/7 to ensure immediate redressal of public complaints.

The Provincial Minister clarified that private cattle markets would not be allowed anywhere in the district and that the Pera Force would remain active against illegal cattle markets. He directed that fines be imposed on the spot in case of violations.

He further stated that 48 quick response teams would remain active in the field, while Union Council Secretaries would also supervise the cleanliness operation and ensure their field presence. For cleanliness and disinfection across District Sialkot, 96,000 kilograms of lime, 111,000 litres of phenyl, and 3,100 litres of rose water would be utilized.

Mian Zeeshan Rafique directed that action on public complaints must be ensured within two hours, while fines would also be imposed on those causing unhygienic conditions and littering. He added that the Punjab Government was utilizing all available resources to provide citizens with a clean and healthy environment.
