Mina comes alive with Talbiyah as pilgrims begin journey to Arafat

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2026) Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims began moving to Mina to spend the Day of Tarwiyah, marking the beginning of the main Hajj rituals in an atmosphere filled with prayers, Talbiyah and spiritual devotion during Hajj 1447 AH.

According to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), pilgrims started arriving in Mina early in the morning following the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) before departing for the plains of Arafat on the 9th of Dhul-Hijjah for the central rite of Hajj.

The report said pilgrims performing Hajj Tamattu entered into Ihram from their residences in Makkah before heading to Mina, where pilgrims traditionally spend the day and night in worship and prayer.

SPA told APP that Saudi authorities have mobilized extensive security, health, transport and logistical arrangements to facilitate pilgrims during one of the most important stages of the Hajj journey.

The report said Mina, located around seven kilometers northeast of Masjid al-Haram between Makkah and Muzdalifah, holds deep historical and religious significance in islam.

Authorities said Mina is the site where Prophet Ibrahim (AS) performed the symbolic stoning of the devil and where the sacrifice connected to Prophet Ismail (AS) took place.

The report added that Mina is also home to historic Islamic landmarks, including Masjid Al-Khayf, where Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) and earlier prophets are believed to have prayed.

SPA said Saudi authorities have intensified operational plans and field services in Mina to ensure pilgrims perform rituals in a safe, organized and spiritually peaceful environment.
