SIALKOT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th May, 2026) Provincial Minister for Local Government Punjab Mian Zeeshan Rafique visited the cattle markets in Sialkot where he reviewed the facilities and arrangements provided for the citizens in detail.
Commissioner Gujranwala Division Muhammad Ali and Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Saba Asghar Ali were also present.
On the occasion, Provincial Minister for Local Government Punjab inquired about the facilities provided to the citizens in the markets and expressed satisfaction with the arrangements.
Later, Provincial Minister for Local Government Mian Zeeshan Rafique, along with Commissioner Gujranwala and Deputy Commissioner Sialkot, led a flag march from Deputy Commissioner Office Sialkot to Gola Phala Livestock Market. Vehicles of Suthra Punjab, WASA, PERA Force, rescue agencies and Punjab Police participated in the flag march.
The aim of the flag march was to create awareness among the citizens about cleanliness arrangements on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha and to demonstrate the preparedness of the institutions in practice.
Later, an important meeting chaired by Provincial Minister for Local Government Punjab Mian Zeeshan Rafique was held at the Deputy Commissioner Office Sialkot to review the Eid-ul-Azha cleanliness plan in detail. Commissioner Muhammad Ali, Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali, and officers from relevant departments also attended the meeting.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Addressing the meeting, the provincial minister said that 52 collection points have been established across the district for the disposal of animal waste. He said that 1,411 vehicles and 5,443 personnel under the "Suthra Punjab" initiative will remain active for waste collection and sanitation operations during Eid days.
He directed monitoring officers to keep their live locations active round the clock, while the control room established at the Deputy Commissioner Office Sialkot will also remain operational 24/7 to ensure immediate resolution of public complaints.
Mian Zeeshan Rafique further announced that private cattle markets will not be allowed anywhere in the district, and the PERA Force will remain active against illegal markets. He directed authorities to impose on-the-spot fines in case of violations.
The minister added that 48 quick response teams will remain deployed in the field, while Union Council Secretaries will also supervise cleanliness operations. For sanitation and disinfecting purposes, 96,000 kilograms of lime, 111,000 liters of phenyl, and 3,100 liters of rose water will be used across the district.
He instructed authorities to ensure action on public complaints within two hours and warned that fines would be imposed on those spreading filth.
He said that the Punjab government is utilizing all resources to provide a clean and healthy environment to the citizens.
