Lahore Traffic Police, Motorway Police review Eid traffic plan for Shahpur Kanjran, Thokar Niaz Baig

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th May, 2026) Lahore Traffic Police and National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) on Tuesday reviewed traffic management arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha, particularly around Shahpur Kanjran cattle market and Thokar Niaz Baig.

A joint meeting chaired by Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi discussed measures to ensure smooth traffic flow during Eid holidays and Chand Raat.

SP Traffic Saddar Zafar Abbas Naqvi, DSP Motorway Tariq Abbasi, DSP Jameel Akbar and DSP Farukh Shah attended the meeting.

Participants reviewed traffic-related issues and possible solutions for Thokar Niaz Baig, Babu Sabu, Multan Road and areas surrounding the Shahpur Kanjran cattle market.

The meeting agreed to further strengthen coordination between Lahore Traffic Police and Motorway Police to provide uninterrupted travel facilities to citizens during Eid holidays.

Raheem Shirazi said diversion plans and emergency strategies would be implemented in case of increased traffic pressure.

He directed officials to complete all advance arrangements to protect citizens from traffic congestion and inconvenience during Eid days.

The CTO Lahore said traffic conditions would be monitored continuously through drone cameras, Punjab Safe Cities Authority cameras and live mobile surveillance vehicles.

He expressed confidence that effective coordination among departments would help ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize inconvenience to commuters.

Shirazi said citizens could seek guidance and assistance through police helpline 15, while traffic updates would also be shared regularly through social media platforms, Rasta FM and the Rasta App.
