BAHAWALPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Mar, 2026) On the directives of the Federal Ombudsman’s Regional Office in Bahawalpur, a number of consumers of the Multan Electric Company (MEPCO) have been provided with Rs 01 million relief.
According to an official press release issued here, at the Federal Ombudsman’s Regional Office Bahawalpur, Senior Advisor Tahir Nawaz Khan heard cases related to the MEPCO. “A large number of complainants presented their issues, while officials of the concerned department were also present during the hearing,” it said.
“During the proceedings, more than 30 cases were heard in detail and after reviewing the complaints, necessary instructions were issued on the spot to the relevant officials to provide immediate relief to the public,” it further said, adding that as a result, several complaints were resolved instantly.
It concluded that during the hearing, complainants were provided relief amounting to more than one million rupees, adding that orders were also issued for the replacement of two electricity meters and one electricity pole to permanently resolve the electricity-related issues faced by the affected consumers.
