FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jul, 2026) In order to make the anti-begging campaign more effective, the district administration has assigned responsibilities to various departments including Social Welfare and Traffic Police.
A meeting regarding anti-begging was held under the chair of Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) Sara Zainab, in which a strategy against professional and habitual beggars was formulated.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner City, Police, Traffic Police, Social Welfare Department, Child Protection Institute, NADRA, Special education Department and others.
The Deputy Director Social Welfare gave a detailed briefing on the anti-begging campaign and informed about the progress made so far and the future plan of action.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>ADC directed that all relevant institutions should take coordinated action to clear all important roads, chowks and public places of the city from professional beggars.
She said that an effective strategy should be adopted to eradicate organized networks of begging and this campaign should be continued on a permanent basis.
She also stressed that indiscriminate and strict legal action should be taken against the elements who forcefully beg innocent children.
The meeting also considered various suggestions to make the anti-begging campaign more effective, coordinated and fruitful.
