HAVELIAN, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th May, 2026) A teenage boy drowned while bathing in Kyala Dam within the jurisdiction of Rajoiya Police Station on Friday, locals said.
The deceased, identified as Abdullah, was a resident of Hurnara village and had recently appeared in his matriculation examinations. According to local residents, Abdullah was bathing in the dam along with his younger brother when he suddenly slipped into deep water and drowned.
Following the incident, local people launched immediate rescue efforts and recovered the body through self-help measures after nearly 45 minutes of continuous attempts.

Upon receiving information about the incident, VC Chairman Bandi Atta Khan Sher Bahadur Khan reached the scene and supervised the rescue operation. Officials of Rescue 1122 Havelian later arrived at the site and shifted the body to the family’s native village, Harnara, in a rescue vehicle.
The tragic incident has cast a pall of gloom over the area, with residents expressing deep sorrow over the untimely death of the young student.
