Market committee employee held for taking bribe

The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Muzaffargarh arrested a Market Committee employee red-handed while allegedly receiving bribe from a citizen

MUZAFFARGARH, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2026) The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Muzaffargarh arrested a Market Committee employee red-handed while allegedly receiving bribe from a citizen.

According to police sources, the accused, identified as Khalid Javed, serving as a Naib Qasid (peon) at the Market Committee Chowk Sarwar Shaheed, was apprehended during a successful raid conducted by the anti-corruption team.

Sources said the suspect allegedly introduced himself to citizens as a Sub-Inspector of the Market Committee and demanded illegal gratification.

During the operation, marked Currency notes were also recovered from his possession on the spot.

A case has been registered against the accused, while further investigation is underway.
