LONDON: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-June 10th, 2026) Renowned Pakistani television and film actress Mahira Khan has stressed the need for greater awareness of mental health, saying that many people still feel uncomfortable discussing psychological well-being due to social stigma.
Mahira Khan said that mental health conditions should be viewed no differently than other illnesses and emphasized the importance of encouraging open conversations on the subject. The Raees actress was speaking to the media at an event organized by the British Asian Trust in London.
The actress also condemned incidents of harassment and violence in society, describing them as unacceptable. She noted that changing societal mindsets and holding perpetrators accountable are essential steps toward creating a safer and more inclusive environment.
During the event, Khan also spoke about her meeting with King Charles III, describing the interaction as warm and meaningful.
