Administrative management system introduced in Peshawar mosques

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Jun, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Auqaf Department has introduced administrative reforms for mosques across Peshawar by implementing a new financial and administrative management system in 28 mosques.

Under the new framework, management committees consisting of five to seven members have been established in each mosque to oversee financial and administrative affairs.

The committees will be responsible for maintaining written records of all financial transactions, promoting religious harmony within mosques and ensuring that mosque premises are not used for sectarian purposes.

They will also be required to inform the administrator in writing if any violation of the sanctity of the mosque or any unlawful activity is observed.

The initiative is expected to enhance financial transparency and administrative stability in mosques. The reforms are also seen as a step toward curbing sectarian activities and fostering a more harmonious religious environment.

Officials believe the new system will strengthen accountability and improve the overall management of mosques in the provincial capital.
