In a telephonic interveiw with APP, Zeeshan Ullah Khattak, Director Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) & Training at Islamia College Peshawar and Chairman of the Pakistan Librarians Society(PLS), said libraries are no longer limited to lending books but have become centers for digital learning, innovation, and research facilitation.

He said modern libraries are providing democratic access to high-speed internet, digital literacy training, and costly research databases, enabling students, researchers, and aspiring entrepreneurs to benefit from advanced educational resources.

Zeeshan Ullah Khattak emphasized that libraries are playing a vital role in bridging the “digital divide” by ensuring that access to information and innovation is not restricted to privileged segments of society alone.

He noted that the transformation of libraries into digital hubs is essential for educational growth, research development, and technological advancement in the country.

He further stressed the need to strengthen library systems and expand digital infrastructure to equip the younger generation with modern knowledge and skills required in the rapidly evolving world.
