LG Minister Zeeshan Rafique reviews arrangements for Eidul Azha

Minister says we all have to ensure high standards of cleanliness on Eid with teamwork as per the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif

LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News- May 25th, 2026) On the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique visited Faisalabad to review the arrangements made for Eid-ul-Azha. The provincial minister also met Commissioner Faisalabad Musarrat Jabeen and discussed the facilities at the kettle sale points, and issued necessary instructions. Officials from other districts of Faisalabad division attended the briefing on Eid arrangements at the Commissioner’s office via video link.

Addressing the meeting, Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique said that we all have to ensure high standards of cleanliness on Eid with teamwork as per the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. He said that this time, the teams of Clean Punjab will use megaphones to collect the offal from the streets and residential areas. “Citizens should see the Suthra Punjab teams active in the street fields”, he urged. The provincial minister stressed on accelerating the process of door-to-door distribution of waste bags to collect offal saying that the places of collective sacrifice, roads will be washed with lime, phenyl and rose water. “We have to provide services beyond the expectations of the citizens and the Chief Minister”, he pledged.

Zeeshan Rafique directed that the secretaries of union councils in the villages should be divided into areas and taken out to the field.

“Local government officers should also be involved in the monitoring process”, he added. He said that permanent teams of Suthra Punjab should be deputed for railway areas and tracks. During his visit, the provincial minister also visited Chowk Ghanta Ghar Faisalabad and adjacent markets. He distributed eco-friendly waste bags among shopkeepers and citizens. The local government minister appealed to the citizens to cooperate with Suthra Punjab workers on Eid-ul-Azha and avoid throwing garbage in empty plots or canals. Zeeshan Rafique said in a conversation with the media that on the orders of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, quality cleaning services will be provided on Eid. He expressed satisfaction that all the arrangements for the Eid sanitation plan in Faisalabad division are complete in every respect.

On this occasion, Commissioner Faisalabad Masrat Jabeen said that all possible steps will be taken as per the government instructions. He said that control rooms have been activated in all four districts of the division. The sanitation operation will start at night before Eid, she added. “If any laxity is seen at any place, action will be taken”, warned the commissioner.
