Lecturer Suleman Shah defends his PhD Thesis

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Feb, 2026) Lecturer Suleman Shah has successfully defended his PhD dissertation in urdu at Qurtuba University of Science and Information Technology, D.I. Khan Campus, earning his Doctor of Philosophy degree.

During the defense, supervised by Dr. Hameed Ulfat Malghani, Suleman Shah presented his research titled “Urdu Hamdia Rubaiyat (A Research and Critical Study) from the Beginning to 1947.”

A panel comprising senior faculty members and renowned scholars rigorously examined the candidate and, after detailed questioning, unanimously recommended the award of the doctoral degree.

The dissertation offers a comprehensive historical and critical analysis of Hamdia Rubaiyat (quatrains in praise of Allah) in Urdu poetry.

Covering the period from the early beginnings of Urdu literature up to 1947, the study compiles, analyzes, and evaluates the poetic, intellectual, and stylistic dimensions of this important poetic genre.

The research is being regarded as a valuable contribution to Urdu literary scholarship.

It is noteworthy that Suleman Shah is currently serving as a Lecturer in Urdu at Cadet College Spinkai, where he is actively engaged in the academic and literary development of students.

Faculty members and staff congratulated Dr. Suleman Shah on his achievement and expressed their best wishes for his future academic endeavors.
