LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol emphasizes that strong academia-industry collaboration is essential for nurturing future entrepreneurs
LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-Feb 26th, 2026) The University of South Asia in collaboration with the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry jointly organized a Final Year Projects Display at the LCCI premises to showcase 40 innovative business ventures across diverse sectors including sustainable products, food & beverages, renewable energy, fashion & textiles, and health & wellness.
Addressing the participants on the occasion, LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol emphasized that strong academia-industry collaboration is essential for nurturing future entrepreneurs and strengthening Pakistan’s economic foundation. He stated that LCCI remains committed to facilitating startups and young innovators by providing them with mentorship, networking opportunities, and access to practical industry exposure so that their innovative ideas can be transformed into viable business ventures contributing towards economic growth.
LCCI Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh appreciated the creativity and entrepreneurial mindset demonstrated by the students and highlighted the importance of aligning academic projects with market needs. He noted that such initiatives provide students with real-time industry insights and help them understand practical business dynamics, which is crucial for building sustainable startups in a competitive environment.
USA Vice Chancellor Mian Imran Masood also spoke on the occasion and underscored the importance of practical exposure for students through meaningful engagement with the business community.
The initiative was organized with the support of LCCI’s Standing Committee on Industry-Academia Linkage under the convenership of Umer Saleem. Members of the LCCI Executive Committee along with industry evaluators Amir Ali and Firdous Nisar actively evaluated the projects and appreciated the professional grooming, confidence, and business acumen of the final-year students.
The projects showcased remarkable innovation with a strong emphasis on sustainability and environmental responsibility, focusing on the globally recognized concept of “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle.” Prominent ventures included solar-powered portable chargers, aquariums manufactured from discarded tyres, plantable seed paper initiatives, organic compost solutions, and renewable energy products, along with creative fashion and lifestyle projects.
The exhibition highlighted the immense potential of emerging entrepreneurs and reinforced the importance of structured collaboration between academia and industry to drive innovation and sustainable economic development in Pakistan. LCCI reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting young entrepreneurs through meaningful industry engagement and mentorship platforms.
