China appreciates Pakistan’s role in promoting peace between US-Iran

China has commended Pakistan for its constructive role in promoting dialogue and peace between the United States and Iran, recognizing Islamabad’s efforts in facilitating negotiations that led to the conclusion of Phase One of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

BEIJING, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jun, 2026) China has commended Pakistan for its constructive role in promoting dialogue and peace between the United States and Iran, recognizing Islamabad’s efforts in facilitating negotiations that led to the conclusion of Phase One of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Responding to a question regarding Pakistan's mediation role, a spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry said that China appreciates Pakistan’s initiative and sense of responsibility in actively promoting peace, ending hostilities, and playing an important mediation role in the US-Iran negotiations.

The spokesperson noted that China is willing to continue upholding the spirit of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s four-point proposal on safeguarding and advancing peace and stability in the Middle East.

China also reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the China-Pakistan five-point initiative aimed at restoring peace and stability in the Gulf and the broader Middle East region.

The spokesperson said China stands ready to work with the international community, including Pakistan, to make positive contributions toward the early restoration of peace, security, and stability in the Gulf and the Middle East.

The remarks reflect Beijing’s support for diplomatic solutions and its recognition of Pakistan’s efforts to promote dialogue and regional stability amid ongoing efforts to reduce tensions in the Middle East.
