LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Mar, 2026) The last Friday of the holy month of Ramazan will be observed as Youm-e-Wahdat-e-Ummah, while speeches on the theme of Muslim unity will also be delivered during Eid congregations to further strengthen the spirit of unity, brotherhood, and shared responsibility within the Muslim Ummah.

The decision was taken at a seminar on Unity of the Ummah held at the Lahore Press Club on Thursday under the auspices of the National Paigham-e-Aman Committee. Prominent scholars and spiritual leaders from various schools of thought across the country, along with committee members, participated in the seminar.

During the seminar, detailed discussions were held on mutual unity among the Muslim Ummah, inter-sect harmony, Pakistan’s national stance, and the prevailing regional and global situation.

Speakers emphasized that Pakistan’s leadership is actively working for Muslim unity and has consistently sought solutions to the issues faced by the Muslim world through unity, tolerance, moderation, and collective wisdom. They reaffirmed that Pakistan will continue to play a positive and responsible role in promoting cooperation, stability, and safeguarding collective interests of the Muslim world.

The scholars and religious leaders endorsed the Government of Pakistan’s stance on Afghanistan and current global developments. They stated that Pakistan’s support for a ceasefire in Afghanistan, following appeals from brotherly Islamic countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Türkiye, is a step in the right direction. They expressed hope that the interim Afghan government would prevent its territory from being used for terrorism against Pakistan and take effective action against those involved in shedding innocent Pakistani blood.

The speakers also noted that certain irresponsible elements in Afghanistan, particularly a judicial figure issuing fatwas against Pakistan, are acting contrary to Shariah. They reiterated that if the Afghan interim government is willing, dialogue between scholars of both sides in the light of the Qur’an and Sunnah is possible, and avoiding such a path is regrettable.

The meeting between Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal/General Hafiz Syed Asim Munir and senior leaders of the Shia community was described as a reflection of national, communal, and Islamic sentiments. Speakers said the development represents unity, harmony, and a shared national vision in Pakistan.

The seminar reaffirmed its commitment to promoting unity of the Ummah, inter-sect harmony, protection of Islamic sacred values, and the message of the National Paigham-e-Aman at all levels in Pakistan. It also pledged united and effective efforts against extremism, terrorism, sectarianism, and all forms of discord.

Coordinator of the National Paigham-e-Aman Committee Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, along with Allama Muhammad Hussain Akbar, Mufti Abdul Karim Khan, Dr. Muhammad Asif Mir, Mufti Mubashir Nizami, Maulana Aslam Siddiqui, Maulana Abdul Hakeem Athar, Maulana Qari Mubashir Rahimi, Maulana Ibrahim Hanafi, Qari Faisal Ameen, Maulana Ihtisham-ul-Haq Azad, Qari Sajid, Qari Islam-ud-Din, and other scholars and spiritual leaders addressed the seminar.
