Laborer dies, another injured in steel mill explosion in Khyber

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Apr, 2026) An explosion inside a steel mill located in the Bara subdivision of Khyber district, resulted in the death of one worker and injuries to another.

According to rescue sources on Thursday, the blast was caused by explosive material hidden within scrap metal that detonated during processing.

Emergency response teams rushed to the scene immediately after the incident and shifted the injured worker to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Police reported that both the deceased and the injured belong to Sheikhupura, a city in Punjab province.

Further investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
