PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jun, 2026) A bumper tomato harvest is expected in Buland Khel village of Orakzai district under various agricultural development initiatives, with farmers reporting improved yields and better-quality produce.
Under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Rural Investment and Institutional Support Project (KP-RIISP), farmers were provided with equipment for vertical net farming, a modern cultivation technique that has significantly enhanced tomato production in the area.
According to local growers, the adoption of vertical net farming has promoted healthier plant growth, improved air circulation, and reduced the incidence of crop diseases. As a result, tomatoes produced in Buland Khel are exhibiting better colour, uniform size, and higher overall quality.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The locally grown tomatoes are being supplied to markets across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where they have received positive demand due to their appearance and quality standards.
Farmers expressed optimism that the improved production and marketability of their crop would lead to higher incomes and contribute to the economic well-being of farming households in the area.
Agriculture experts believe that the continued adoption of modern farming practices and support under development projects such as KP-RIISP can play a key role in increasing agricultural productivity and strengthening rural livelihoods across the district.
