PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Gilgit Baltistan and Kashmir Affairs Engr Amir Muqam has said that KP government is merely engaged in point-scoring to hide its poor performance, while the public is being deprived of basic facilities.

In response to the announcement of a pen-down strike by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, Muqam reacted strongly and termed it a staged drama. In his statement, he said that this illogical move is an unsuccessful attempt to divert public attention from real issues. He further stated that sensible citizens will reject such uncalled-for tactics.

Muqam questioned, “Will a Chief Minister engage in strike politics instead of focusing on provincial affairs?”

He claimed the people of KP are already fed up with this irresponsible behavior. He added that the province is already facing disruption in official matters, and pen-down strikes are ongoing in various sectors, directly affecting ordinary citizens.

Referring to the National Finance Commission, he clarified, “The province is receiving its constitutional share, yet attempts are being made to mislead the public, while issues of electricity and gas are being politicized.

“At a time when the entire nation is celebrating the first anniversary of the ‘Battle for Truth,’ and the federal government under Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has achieved great success, and under the leadership of CDF Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the country’s defense is in strong hands, some elements are unable to digest the country’s positive progress.”

He said these are the same people who try to make every national success controversial, but, like in the past, they will fail this time as well.

The public is now aware of such negative elements and prefers development, stability, and real performance.
