5.0 magnitude earthquake jolts Barkhan, panic grips Rakhni area

Residents rush out of homes as tremors are felt across the region.

An earthquake struck Barkhan district of Balochistan today causing panic among residents of Rakhni and nearby areas.

According to the Seismological Center the quake measured 5.0 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was located 12 kilometers southeast of Rakhni, at a depth of 30 kilometers.

As tremors were felt, locals rushed out of their homes while reciting prayers in fear.

Rescue officials confirmed that no casualties or property damage have been reported so far. However, emergency response teams have been placed on alert as a precautionary measure.
