PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has accelerated the process of legal reforms aimed at making the justice system more effective, transparent, and people-friendly under the special directives of Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi.
In this regard, an important meeting of the special committee formed for reforms in various laws was held at the Law Department’s conference room under the chairmanship of Law Minister Aftab Alam.
Senior officials and representatives from the Law Department and the Advocate General Office attended the meeting, where several important laws were reviewed in detail.
The meeting primarily focused on aligning the legal and judicial system with modern requirements to ensure the provision of prompt, affordable, and effective justice to the public.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The committee reviewed proposed amendments to various important laws, while members presented their suggestions and recommendations. Following detailed discussions, an initial draft of the proposed amendments has been prepared.
The legal reforms committee has been continuously reviewing various laws through regular meetings over the past 20 days in an effort to formulate a comprehensive and effective reform package.
The draft of the proposed amendments will soon be presented before Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi and the provincial cabinet for final approval.
The reforms are expected to strengthen the rule of law in the province, ensure the timely delivery of justice, and contribute towards establishing a modern, transparent, and citizen-friendly justice system in line with public expectations.
