KP Govt. proposes projects to combat climate change, promote green energy

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jun, 2026) The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has proposed various projects in budget 2026-27 to combat climate changes, promote green energy and environmental protection.

99 million have been allocated for the environment sector that would be utilized on four new and three ongoing projects.

The government has allocated 13.23 rupees for solarization of houses in merged districts, Rs. 130 million for restoration of micro hydel power stations in Tirah Valley, Rs 258 million for preventive measures against natural calamities, Rs. 4.98 billion for purchase of BRT electric buses, Rs 2.5billion for markup free subsidy to promote electric bikes and tri-wheelers.
