KP Govt imposes 30-day ban on drone flying across province

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Feb, 2026) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s Home and Tribal Affairs Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has imposed a complete ban on the outdoor flying of drones, quad-copters, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) across the province for 30 days in view of the prevailing security situation.

According to an official notification, the ban takes immediate effect and will remain enforced for a period of 30 days.

Under the restrictions, all kinds of drone flights in open areas throughout the province have been prohibited. However, the use of small drones for coverage of indoor events in halls or marquees will be allowed. Law enforcement agencies and sensitive institutions have been exempted from the ban.

The public has been urged to strictly comply with the directive and cooperate with the administration. The notification warned that legal action would be taken against violators of the ban.
