ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Mar, 2026) In view of the ongoing fuel crisis, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced temporary changes in the working hours of universities and degree-awarding institutions across the province.

All public and private universities, as well as degree-awarding colleges, will remain closed on Fridays and Saturdays.

During the remaining weekdays, universities have been directed to adopt hybrid or online teaching methods to ensure continuity of education while managing energy consumption.

The government has emphasized prioritizing online and hybrid classes due to rising fuel prices and supply concerns.

The decision, which has been formally notified by the Higher Education, Archives, and libraries Department, will initially remain in effect for two months.

All Vice Chancellors and relevant institutions have been instructed to implement the new guidelines, while current arrangements will continue until further notice.
