KP Governor departs for Iran to attend Ayatollah Khamenei's funeral

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jul, 2026) Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday departed for Iran to attend the funeral prayers and burial ceremonies of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei.

Governor Kundi left Islamabad as part of a high-level Pakistani delegation led by Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani for Tehran.

During the visit, the Pakistani delegation would participate in the funeral prayers and other activities.

The delegation was also scheduled to hold meetings with the Iranian leadership to discuss matters of mutual interest, bilateral relations, and the prevailing regional situation.
