PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi and Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Monday called for easing the restrictions on wheat transportation and restoration of CNG supply in the province.
Addressing a joint press conference at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly along with Speaker Babar Saleem Swati and Leader of the Opposition Dr Ibadullah, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said both treasury and opposition benches were unanimous on their call for availability of basic facilities in the province.
Governor Kundi appreciated the Speaker for bringing together the government and opposition on provincial issues including wheat transportation restrictions and closure of CNG stations.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>He said the provincial leadership was in contact with the Federal government regarding the issues.
He urged the federal government to take immediate notice of the CNG closure and address the issues facing the province on a priority basis.
Chief Minister Afridi said the provincial government had formulated a joint strategy with opposition members to fight the province’s financial case and added that a durable peace required a unified policy.
Speaker Babar Saleem Swati and Opposition Leader Dr Ibadullah also addressed the press conference and endoresed the viewpoint of the Governor and the Chief Minister.
Provincial Information Minister Shafi Jan was also present on the occasion.
