PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2026) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa education Department has provided major relief to teachers and other staff by suspending transfer orders issued before the completion of the mandatory two-year tenure at a posting.

According to official sources on Thursday, the development takes place after employees challenged the department's policy of transferring staff before they had completed two years at their current stations. Following the challenge, the Secretary of Education ordered the immediate suspension of the transfer orders issued by the Education Directorate.

The department stated that the decision offers immediate relief to affected teachers, senior clerks and other educational staff. Relevant authorities have been directed to withdraw the transfer orders and allow employees to continue serving at their previous postings.

Several employees had approached the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Service Tribunal against the transfers.

After reviewing the cases, the appellate authority ruled in favor of the employees, prompting the Education Department to revoke the transfer orders.

The department had justified the transfers on the basis of administrative requirements and the two-year tenure policy. However, affected employees argued that transfers before the completion of the prescribed tenure violated existing rules and regulations.

The Secretary of Education has instructed all concerned officers to immediately withdraw the transfer notifications and ensure that affected employees remain at their original postings.

Education experts believe the decision is significant not only for thousands of Education Department employees but also for the future implementation of transfer policies in the province.
