PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi has reiterated his government’s unwavering zero-tolerance policy against corruption, declaring that indiscriminate action is being taken across the province and that no individual will be granted any concession or protection in this regard.
He stated that the provincial government is fully aware of the entrenched channels of corruption within the system and is taking decisive and effective measures to eliminate them completely.
The Chief Minister revealed that inquiries are currently underway against 49 officers, while 19 individuals have been suspended and 17 officials have already been dismissed from service.
He further disclosed that action against another 47 individuals is in progress, adding that more than 150 corruption cases are presently at different stages of investigation and proceedings.
Muhammad Sohail Afridi stated that in the past, the posting and transfer system had been subjected to unnecessary interference and manipulation, but the present government has made the entire process fully transparent.
He said that all postings and transfers are now being carried out under the direct supervision of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in a transparent manner, and even the officers being appointed are not informed beforehand about their places of posting, leaving no room for pressure, political influence, recommendations, or personal interests.
The Chief Minister said that certain elements have launched “black channels” to manufacture a negative narrative against the government, while some have been offered financial incentives to promote anti-government propaganda.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Expressing concern, he remarked that corruption allegations are being made on a daily basis, yet no one is presenting credible evidence to substantiate those claims.
The Chief Minister made it clear that whether an individual is an MPA, MNA, Senator, bureaucrat, or a relative of any influential personality, everyone will be treated equally before the law.
Muhammad Sohail Afridi warned that strict action would also be taken against those attempting to exert pressure on the bureaucracy.
Appealing to the public, he said that the doors of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat remain open for corruption-related complaints, urging citizens to provide authentic and verifiable evidence so that immediate action can be initiated.
He further announced that the government would bear the expenses of people coming from remote areas to report corruption cases, and rewards would also be announced to individuals providing authentic evidence of corruption.
Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi said that, in line with the vision of Imran Khan, the zero-tolerance policy against corruption will continue to be implemented in letter and spirit, and the provincial government remains fully committed to ensuring transparency, merit, and the rule of law at all costs.
