Kohat authorities intensifies crackdown on encroachments, ensures price control

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jun, 2026) The Kohat district administration has accelerated efforts to ensure price stability, civic hygiene, and the removal of encroachments across the district, these were on the special directives of Deputy Commissioner Kohat, Muhammad Nawaz.

On Friday, Assistant Commissioner (Gambatt), Syed Mukhtiar Shah, conducted a surprise inspection of the Cadet College Chowk and the Pindi Road bazaar. During the visit, the administration evaluated the implementation of official price lists for essential commodities and monitored the overall cleanliness of the commercial areas.

"The objective of these inspections is to ensure that the public is not overcharged and that markets remain orderly," an official statement noted. During the operation, several shopkeepers were found violating official pricing guidelines and were subsequently subjected to legal action. Furthermore, temporary encroachments hindering public movement and causing traffic congestion were removed by the municipal teams.

In a separate administrative drive, Assistant Commissioner (HQ) Kohat, Naveed Ahmad, carried out inspections of various Imambargahs in the district. Accompanied by local stakeholders, the Assistant Commissioner reviewed the state of sanitation and waste management systems in the vicinity of these sites.

The administration issued strict instructions to the relevant municipal staff to ensure regular garbage collection and maintain high hygiene standards, particularly in light of public health considerations. Officials warned that any negligence in cleanliness or waste management protocols would be met with strict disciplinary action.

The district administration has reiterated its commitment to providing a clean and organized environment for citizens, vowing to continue such monitoring efforts across all sectors of the district.
