Number of gastro and diarrhea cases has exceeded 150 per day.

Gastroenteritis and diarrhea cases have surged in Karachi, with hospitals reporting a growing number of patients suffering from stomach-related illnesses.

According to Dr. Imran Sarwar, emergency departments in major hospitals are witnessing a heavy rush of patients. At Civil Hospital, more than 200 patients with stomach disorders and diarrhea are being admitted daily.

Similarly, at Jinnah Hospital, the number of gastro and diarrhea cases has exceeded 150 per day.

Medical experts say that patients are arriving with symptoms such as stomach pain, vomiting, nausea, and loose motions. They also warn that improperly cooked meat stored in freezers can lead to severe stomach infections.

Doctors further stated that the consumption of unhygienic and contaminated food is a major cause of the outbreak. They advised citizens to use fresh and clean food, keep meals properly covered, and store food at appropriate refrigerator temperatures to prevent illness.
