KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jul, 2026) Karachi Police and the Pakistan Eye Bank Society (PEBS) Hospital on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance healthcare services for serving and retired police personnel and their immediate family members.

The agreement was signed at the Karachi Police Office (KPO) by President of the Pakistan Eye Bank Society Qazi Sajid Ali and Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi Azad Khan, said a news release on Thursday.

The ceremony was witnessed by Head of the Oral, Maxillofacial and Cancer Surgery Unit at PEBS Hospital Dr Jehanzeb Mughal, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Administration) Karachi Ahmed Nawaz Cheema, and Joint Secretary of the Pakistan Eye Bank Society Qazi Yasir Sajid.

Speaking on the occasion, the signatories described the agreement as an important step towards strengthening institutional collaboration and improving access to quality healthcare for the police community.

They reaffirmed their commitment to the welfare of law enforcement personnel serving the city under challenging conditions.

Under the agreement, serving and retired Karachi Police personnel and their immediate family members will receive free access to a broad range of healthcare services at PEBS Hospital, including ophthalmology, cardiology, diabetes care, dentistry, haemodialysis, oral and breast cancer surgery, maxillofacial surgery and diagnostic services.

The MoU also provides for a dedicated screening programme aimed at the early detection, treatment and prevention of oral pre-cancer and oral cancer among Karachi Police personnel.
