KARACHI: Excitement is building in Karachi as Pakistan and South Africa Under-19 women’s teams are set to clash in the opening match of their five-match T20 series today, with both sides aiming for a winning start.
The first encounter will begin at 7:00pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST), as young cricketers from both teams look to make their mark on the international stage.
Ahead of the series opener, the tournament trophy was unveiled during a ceremony attended by the captains of both teams.
Pakistan U-19 captain Fiza Fayyaz described the series as a valuable opportunity for young players to gain international experience and improve their skills.
She expressed confidence in her squad and said the team was prepared to put in strong performances throughout the series.
South Africa U-19 captain Mika van Voorst also shared her excitement about touring Pakistan and participating in the series.
She said she was looking forward to the challenge and added that she would like to meet Pakistan cricket stars Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi during her visit, if given the opportunity.
The five-match T20 series is expected to highlight emerging talent and provide both teams with valuable experience ahead of future international competitions.
