Kaghan, Naran master planning moves forward as stakeholders discuss sustainable tourism development

MANSEHRA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th Jun, 2026) A consultative meeting regarding the master planning and promotion of sustainable tourism in the scenic tourist destinations of Kaghan, Naran, and Batakundi was held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner Mansehra.

The meeting was chaired by Chairman Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) Jameel Ahmed and brought together senior officials, former public representatives, and key stakeholders from the tourism sector.

Among those present were Director General KDA Rehmat Ali, Additional Deputy Commissioner Asad Khan Lodhi, board Member Lieutenant General (R) Ayaz Saleem Rana, Assistant Director Planning Asad Shehzad, former Provincial Minister Syed Ahmed Shah, former Tehsil Nazim Balakot Ibrahim Shah, former Tehsil Nazim Balakot Syed Junaid Shah, and a large number of tourism industry stakeholders.

Officials from the Urban Policy Unit of the Planning and Development Department provided a detailed briefing on various aspects of the master planning framework.

They highlighted proposed initiatives focusing on improving infrastructure, preserving environmental balance, enhancing traffic management, and promoting sustainable tourism across the region’s key tourist destinations.

The participants held detailed discussions on tourism development strategies, infrastructure challenges, and environmental concerns. They also shared their suggestions, reservations, and feedback regarding the ongoing and proposed development plans.

Officials emphasized that the master planning process aims to ensure long-term, organized, and environmentally sustainable development of Kaghan Valley’s tourist destinations, balancing economic growth with ecological preservation.
