ITP hosts University students, promotes road safety & community policing

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jul, 2026) Students from various universities visited the headquarters of Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Wednesday, where they were briefed on traffic management, road safety laws and the force's community policing initiatives.

An official told APP that the visit was organized by the ITP Education Wing as part of its ongoing awareness campaign to educate young people about responsible road use and the role of traffic police in ensuring safe and orderly traffic flow in the Federal capital.

During the visit, the students were introduced to different wings of the traffic police and received detailed briefings on the department's functions, operational responsibilities, enforcement mechanisms and public service initiatives.

The official said the Education Wing team also sensitized the students about traffic rules, safe driving practices, pedestrian safety and the importance of complying with road regulations to help reduce traffic accidents.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Kainat Azhar Khan interacted with the students and shared valuable information about Islamabad Traffic Police's citizen-friendly policing projects, highlighting the department's efforts to improve public services through awareness, education and the use of modern technology.

She encouraged the students to act as ambassadors of road safety by promoting traffic discipline within their families, educational institutions and communities.

The students appreciated the informative session and expressed keen interest in the working of Islamabad Traffic Police, describing the visit as an enriching experience that enhanced their understanding of traffic management and responsible citizenship.
