ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jun, 2026) Spokesperson to the President, Murtaza Solangi, on Friday said that the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was not the result of social media trends, TikTok videos, public statements, or wishful thinking, but rather the outcome of painstaking efforts by dedicated professionals committed to advancing peace.

In a statement shared on his official X wall, Solangi said the agreement was achieved after thousands of hours of work by professionals who remained steadfast despite hurdles, setbacks, and attempts by spoilers and enemies of peace to obstruct the process.

Solangi stressed that peace-building is a long and demanding process requiring patience, courage and sustained effort from a wide range of stakeholders.

“Achieving peace takes time, patience, courage and hard work of many,” he remarked.

He said building peace was comparable to constructing the Taj Mahal or the Pyramids of Egypt, which required the craftsmanship and dedication of hundreds of people.

The presidential spokesperson cautioned that while peace takes years to build, it can be undermined quickly by irresponsible actions.

“It only needs a few trigger-happy mad men to blow it up,” he noted.

Emphasizing the need to protect hard-won diplomatic achievements, Solangi said maintaining peace requires constant attention and care.

“Peace sustenance needs constant hard work and care. Peace is fragile. Handle with care,” he added.
