Inter-school athletic championship 2026 on April 25-26

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Mar, 2026) The Athletic Association and Sports Department Faisalabad have announced the organization of the Inter-School Athletic Championship Meet 2026 here on April 25-26, 2026 to promote sportsmanship, physical fitness and healthy competition among students across the division.

A spokesman of sports department said here on Monday that the championship would be held at the track of Firdous Colony on Jhang Road where young athletes from various schools across the division are expected to participate enthusiastically in a wide range of track and field events.

The boys’ events are scheduled to take place on April 25 while the girls’ competitions would be held on April 26, ensuring equal opportunities for both male and female students to showcase their athletic abilities.

He said that a comprehensive lineup of events has been planned for the championship. In the boys’ category, competitions would include 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 1500 meters and 5000 meters races along with 110 meters hurdles and 4x400 relay race.

The field events such as long jump, triple jump, high jump, javelin throw, shot put, discus throw and hammer throw would also be part of the boys’ schedule.

Similarly, the girls’ category would feature track events including 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters and 1500 meters races along with 100 meters hurdles and 4x100 relay race.

The field events for girls would comprise long jump, high jump, triple jump, javelin throw, shot put, discus throw and hammer throw, he added.

He said that all participants were advised to must wear proper sports kits during the competitions while a verified participation form duly signed by the respective school principal would be required for entry into the championship.

He said that the championship is a part of ongoing efforts to nurture young talent at the grassroots level and provide a structured platform for the students to demonstrate their athletic skills.

He emphasized that such events play a vital role in identifying potential athletes who can represent the district and province at higher levels of competition.

The championship is also expected to promote discipline, teamwork and a spirit of healthy rivalry among the students, encouraging them to adopt sports as a positive and productive activity alongside their academic pursuits, he added.

He said that in order to motivate the participants, the organizers have announced attractive incentives including cash prizes and medals for the winners in various categories, which are likely to boost the morale of young athletes and enhance the competitive environment.

A large number of schools from across Faisalabad division are anticipated to take part in the event, making it a significant sporting occasion for the region while sports enthusiasts and members of the community are also expected to attend and support the young athletes, he added.
