ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th May, 2026) The Islamabad High Court on Monday granted the Federal government two days time to appoint an acting
chairman of the National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC).
A single bench of Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan heard a petition filed by Umer Baloch regarding the appointment
of the Chairman and members of the NIRC.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Additional Attorney General Rashid Hafeez appeared before the court and requested for two days time for
the appointment of an acting chairman, stating that the summary had already been forwarded and approval
was awaited.
Justice Khan granted the government until Thursday to appoint an acting chairman and adjourned the
hearing until May 21.
