IGP Rizvi reviews counter-terrorism operations, orders tighter security in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi held a meeting with SSP Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Saud Khan and reviewed the overall security situation, counter terrorism measures and ongoing operations in the Federal capital.

An official told APP on Thursday that detailed discussions were held regarding ongoing security operations, preventive measures and strategies aimed at further strengthening security arrangements in Islamabad.

IGP Rizvi issued directions to accelerate operations against criminal and anti-social elements and ensure effective implementation of counter-terrorism measures.

Rizvi emphasized the need for enhanced vigilance, intelligence-based operations and improved coordination among security units to maintain law and order in the capital.

IGP reaffirmed Islamabad Police’s commitment to ensuring protection of citizens’ lives and property and maintaining a peaceful environment through proactive policing and timely action against criminal elements.
