IGP orders arrests after two killed in Rawalpindi firing incident

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem on Friday took notice of a double murder incident in Rawalpindi, in which two persons were shot dead over a financial dispute within the jurisdiction of Dhamaial Police Station

LAHORE, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th May, 2026) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem on Friday took notice of a double murder incident in Rawalpindi, in which two persons were shot dead over a financial dispute within the jurisdiction of Dhamaial Police Station.

The IGP sought a detailed report from the regional police officer (RPO) Rawalpindi and directed the city police officer (CPO) Rawalpindi to ensure the immediate arrest of the suspects involved in the firing incident. He stressed that all available resources should be utilised to apprehend those responsible for the killings.

According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, senior police officers, along with a heavy police contingent and forensic teams, reached the crime scene promptly and collected evidence.

The CPO said that special teams had been constituted to arrest the suspects, expressing confidence that those involved would be apprehended soon.
